Paladin, I'm unsure what you mean about not comparing apples to apples. On the previous page I compared the 2008 to the 2009 with identical optioning. It's $3000 more for the 2009 with equivalent features (Since you need to upgrade to SRT Option Group II on the 2009 to have what the 2008 has standard.)

With the R/T at 30K I can afford a V8 Challenger!

I already ordered my $30k R/T, actually it will be about $34 or $35k once the option price come out Wednesday.

I talked to my dealer and they said they have not received the official prices yet.

Bang for the buck is the R/T IMO

Im waiting till mid-year no matter what. I want to see a rebate or something but the R/T is gonna be the best buy for sure. 30k is still a lot to pay for a car, especially one that only gets 16mpg...jeez a C5 vette' can get 18mpg with an auto... No matter how much I want to compulsivly buy this car I have to wait till the 09' calender year.

It depends how well these cars sell. There will definitely be no rebates, gas cards, 0% financing, etc. on the SRT and probably not on the R/T.

You can wait but don't hold your breath.

The best advice I've received is to wait it out one year after the initial launch. By then, all the madness will have started to die down and you will be more apt to get your Challenger at MSRP or below.

I do have a question though - how long would it take (roughly) from the time you order one at the dealership until you physically take delivery? Anyone care to gaze into their crystal ball and help The Beener out here?
