Even if I didnt agree with fatcat (and yet I do), I do respect the extra 24 years he has under his belt.

Dont discount wisdom guys. Its all we get for our time put in.

When you figure that in with less mileage the extra $2 per tank your going backwards using low grade fuel.
I always burn Super...its a no brainer, the Caravan gets 30 extra miles per tank of super over cheap stuff.
I havent really done the gas mileage thing in the Challenger because its not why I bought it.
I might get some cheap tires though...

Tell that to my father. He was paying my gas at the time and he said gas is getting expensive ...use regular...I told him dad this engine is a performance engine...he said he used regular in his ram which wasnt a hemi. And I had to pay for it in the end.

Food for thought.

Also, DOMESTIC oil companies make a good profit that's true. But it's nothing that really makes me feel like they are the major source of the issue. Exxon for instance made something like 40 billion in profits last year - but it was on 400 billion in revenue. That kind of margin is not a gouge IMO. I know people that think 10% on a commodity like gasoline is still to much but I disagree. 10% off at the pump is not what we want to see. Try 35-40% off. That's what it would take to stop the bellyaching.

dude 10% would make me pretty happy man... we could go from 3.50$ to 3.15$ that would help a lot bro... I mean as long as it stayed there I'd be happy as a consumer... that would be a whole dollar cheaper than it was about a month ago... For me that would be 23$ every tank I'd save or about 85-90$ dollars a month Lol, Im going keep going with this or about 1,000 bucks a year hmmmm.... which is about the difference between the R/T and SRT for a whole lot of people... IMO

LOL

You can't be serious? You expect essentially free gasoline then if you want a full 10% off. If I'm Exxon and people want me to give them free gasoline then I say fine, screwit, no more gasoline. Import the entire product refined and all right off the tanker. Then see what happens to prices. I guarantee you people will be even more unhappy about the situation.

If 10% is to much for our domestic gasoline providers who should be next? Is 10% to high a profit for walmart or any other corporation? Seems pretty anti-american to me, this talk of a windfall profit tax and other nonsense like that.

All of this would be a mute point if they would switch from gasoline to natural gas. I know people that has driven on propane for years. It burns cleaner and the engine lasts longer. There is enough supply to last over a hundred years for all the vechiles in the U.S. There are established pipelines already in place. It really is a no-brainer. Jim

LONDON (Reuters) - Oil plunged more than $4 on Monday as concerns that Hurricane Gustav would cause severe damage to the U.S. oil sector eased after the storm weakened before hitting the Louisiana coast.

I'm sure we'll see an IMMEDIATE price drop at the gas pump.
