Lifetime Warranty

RE: Lifetime Warranty
I called the service contract people today and they told me you cannot get a lifetime warranty on the SRT. Intially they offered me a lifetime for $2280, but when I asked them to confirm I could get it they placed me on hold and came back with a "NO". They then wanted to sell me a 7 yr/60K warranty for $1340, but just this morning the dealer quoted me $850 with no haggleing. My advice, based on what I know now, is to take that card and throw it in the trash.

RE: Lifetime Warranty
That's kinda my feeling about any "lifetime" warranty on anything. I have the feeling that if some young guy buys a Challenger and keeps it 50 years, he'll find that it WON'T be honored when he takes his car into a Dodge dealer in 2059. (This is assuming there still is a Dodge division or even a Chrysler LLC then.) Probably, the seven-year extended warranty is what you should go for. (This, of course, ALSO assumes Dodge or Chrysler is even around in that short a time.)
