The passenger side strut was 04589606AA and driver's side was 04589607AA.

MINE WORKS 100% AND THEY ARE REVERSED.
WHY DOES IT MATTER?

RE: SRT hood struts
You are correct, but even though the top part does not swivel, the bottom part of the strut swivels easily. So, turning the bottom end to fit the bottom studs is no problem.
Insofar as the attachment to the stud...I followed the instructions of the service manager.
He specifically told me that you must remove the retaining clip before you attach the ends to the stud.
Then you snap the retianing clip back in place to lock it on to the stud.
I hope that this information is helpful to others who might add the struts to the hood.

The end that attaches to the hood doesn't swivel, so they could only go on one way. Also,I didn't have to do anything with the clips. They just pushed on very easily.

RE: SRT hood struts
My mechanic told me that the clips only needed to be moved when you remove the struts but it works either way so it doesn't matter. Another thing I noticed when I picked up my parts was that the dealership owner's car, a black 08 SRT-8, had yellow markings on his struts while mine has blue markings.
