Is the SRT8 worth 11K more than the R/T?
I am not going to join your mutual admiration society, but here are my thoughts.
I hope I can get an SRT with a 6.4L. Instantly the engine internals will be beefier along with the suspension etc.
With that I will add the power adder and accessories knowing that the stronge engine will take the additonal abuse.
Just my 2¢

That was part of the reason I went with the SRT instead of the R/T. The 6.1 is stronger internally from the start, so Id assume it would take more power more readily than the 5.7.
Mod the R/T - just flashing for a custom tune - and you jump from the 87 octane with MDS to - 91 octane without MDS. Kind of defeated the advantages of having the R/T to begin with for me - not even considering the braking, exhaust and suspension differences.

Food for thought again from me. The 6.1 is a great motor BUT it also has limitations and they arrive at about 560hp. If you want to go beyong that you will be spending more per HP than you would doing the same with the 5.7. Granted the 5.7 will reach that point also but it will have more readily affordable parts if you need them to beef things up and probably with less technical electronic needs.

ok so after ten pages of going back and forth,I think it's unanimous that whether or not it's worth the money for an SRT8 is totally a matter of opinion and how badly you want it.
If I wanted more hp, torque, and technology the current models I would of bought a custom vehicle from the various custom Challenger makers. But that is not me, I like to build from simple to damn what a amazing looking car.
Since this site has a few minor problems I am posting in sections. I cannot post more than two sentences without a problem. Sorry for the rant and multiple post fellas.
I am buying what makes me smile when I drive-it and what represents freedom to me; the Challenger represents both those things.
