If just stroking, I don't think the cylinder wall thickness matters much.

Will entail different crank for sure - will probably need custom rods and pistons as well as relief on the block at the lower end of the cylinder bores to clear the rods. A different cam as well as retuning would tie it all together.

nope 392s have been out for a while now and a number of 5.7 chargers 300s and magnums have been running them no problems for a while now. It can be done, has been done, and definitely a good option for 5.7 owners.

I am sorry, I was thinking of overboring. I agree with your statement.

The 5.7 and 6.1 have bores that are aluminum with iron liners and shouldn't have more than .030 inch ovebore.

Well yeah if your gonna stroke it your gonna get a new crank, and while say "I" was at it I would definatly put a new cam and heads on it....just makes sense...
