While I know a lot of you would like to see the Challenger at a lower price, most of the Chrysler offerings
are priced in the $30K region. While I know most of these are luxury/sports types I can easily see the Challenger
first being offered in the high price/performance range to compete with the GT500. After a year I can see Chrysler
then offering a lower price version. I do not have a degree in marketing but I could see this strategy to take some
of the hoopla away from Mustang. See the Chrysler price comparisons below.

Of course, they are just my humble opinions.

LOL!

ME TOO!

I LIKE THAT!

That is why I keep fighting & hoping that Dodge will do the Challenger right offering a budget base V8 version that is truly price competative with the base V8 Mustang-GT that us blue collar types out here can afford without taking out 2nd mortgages on our homes to buy one...

It would be nice to have that 392 made of aluminum instead of cast iron. That could be a weight savings of over 100 lbs.

That is something I have thought of myself and I think it would work. If you establish that this is a preformance car by offering the preformance model only in the first year. It improves the image as a superior product and can help you later on. One thing I'd like to explain to those who think it could sell around 200,000 models a year. I believe it could be very successful as a mass production model, but I doubt it will be able to match the Mustangs sales. Could it sell more than 100,000 models a year if priced correctly? Yes, it could but you have to remember that part of the reason why the Mustang has that many sales is because it has been around for so many years that people have an instant identity to its name. People don't have that with the Challenger, since it was a short lived car so many years ago. They would be wise to add all levels but I wouldn't expect them to be able to match Ford's sales, partly because Ford is a pure discount division vs. Dodge is a preformance division and naturally will not produce as many cars. The Cuda would have a better chance of doing that in my opinion.

While it's cool and exotic to have an aluminum engine and it does save weight, my biggest concern would it's longevity?

Having a 392 bore and stroked to a 426 cu. in. wouldn't be bad either (just like the current 7.0 liter LS7 is just a bore and stroked 6.0L and slightly modified).

Something that just I just thougth of because of what my son went through with his 06 Mustang was he legally has to put license plates on the front of his car
in the State of Texas. You can't just have on the rear bumper alone.

Can you imagine ruining the front of a Challenger's bumper with license plates.

What I would really like to do is have a stainless steel plate with a Hemi 6.4L inscription be on the front? Anybody want to build them so we can buy them?
I am sure Chrysler would not like that but maybe they can do that. See below.

I am new to the forum so please bear with me.

6.4 L, 6 speed and guarantee me it will blow the Mustang GT off the road and into Mars orbit, I will be thrilled to death.

I have owned a GTO, Z28's and TransAm. Could never bring myself to own a Mustang - to me it was always a Pony trying to be a Stallion no matter what they did to it. With this Challenger concept, I am looking forward to a new muscle car. And if it means I have to pay more to get, then so be it. I am counting my change now :-)
