3 SRTs in the Registry have been built now. 2 Autos and one 6-Speed. Unfortunately Im not one of em. Still waiting for a reply from Chrysler.
Edit: Just saw your Message Brucer! Congrats man! Wont be long now. I think you took my place because of the tire issue. My delivery date was 16 Sep. It hasnt changed yet, but Im expecting it to be bumped back soon. |

Well I sent my own email to LLC this morning and I got a reply within an hour.
Dear Donn: Thank you for contacting the Chrysler Customer Assistance Center regarding your New Vehicle Order Status. We apologize for the inconvenience caused to you and appreciate the time and effort you took to write to us. In response to your email regarding the 2009 Dodge Challenger, we would like to inform you that the vehicle has been built and is now in our transportation process. Transportation time from the factory to the dealer may take approximately 30 days. In addition, we suggest that you stay in touch with your selling dealer, as they are your best source for any updates on their sales order. Should you have any further questions, please feel free to contact the Customer Assistance Center at 1-800-992-1997 for an additional discussion. We appreciate your continued patience while waiting for delivery of your new 2009 Dodge Challengers. However VinWin still has me @ D1 . I then called Asia, and they said I was in G status. Who the heck knows with these clowns what is really going on.[sm=exactly.gif] I am waiting on my dealer to call me back and see what they know. Oh well, I guess it is another Friday night car show with my two "old gals" to help me ease the frustration! |

I changed my car color and added a VIN in the registry. I did not change the VON as my Red SRT8 is in JB status showing ship to vendor for decal.

Brucer41, looks like you don't need that Chrysler E-mail address as your car is now further down the schedule than mine . CONGRATS !!! I'm still in I and you are all the way to JB so it looks like you will get yours first and thats great. Please let me know when you do and post some pics please....after the ride and your grin backs off a tiny bit, LOL......I'm grinning now but its small and reserved a little.....will get bigger if my car keeps moving ! To everyone else thats waiting with us I can't say for sure but my gut tells me maybe, just maybe,Dodge got the message to start building OUR cars and giving us the info. Now lets hope they got thier delivery system tuned up and deliver OUR cars in a timely manner. I know how, much can I ask for ? LOL.....well after our wait, A LOT!!.....Good luck to Brucer41 and all others waiting. Oh and Sjkids that letter you wrote was fantastic and right on target. I wish I could write that well. Fatcat, is was a shock to me to see it so far along so quickly. Not that I am displeased at all! Dont worry, I got the digital camera charged and ready. I hope I get to be there when it comes in but we shall see as if it is anytime after 7 AM I will have to wait to see it/pick it up after 5PM. Bummer! Anyway, THE GRIN? My lips are tickling my earlobes right now and I think my ears may fall into my mouth come Tuesday if teh gods are willing and the creek dont rise.

It's getting close for several on a car that has some promise to be different than the 08 SRT8 automatics.
Would love to get a repost on these 7 items for the 08 SRT8 with 6 speed manual 1 How well does the Tremec 6 speed perform/ Dual disk clutch performance 2. Is the exhaust louder/better than the autos as promised 3. Is the rear valence panel tighter/fixed 4. Are the seat bolts shorter 5. How's the posi rear feel 6. What do you think of the hill start feature 7. There was discussion of surprises for 09 SRT8 w/stick cars - anything - More power? 6.4L? Seat coolers? Back up camera? We want to know even though that won't change my decision to buy it |

I wrote Chrysler this morning and got the standard return e-mail:

Sincerely, Lisa Parker Customer Service Representative Chrysler Customer Assistance Center For any future communications related to this email, please refer to the following information: REFERENCE NUMBER: XXXXX EMAIL CASE NUMBER: XXXXX I got a kick out of this, they have no idea about my car, it’s still in D status and last I heard the projected build date was 9/22. Well at least you got a reply. I think they are ignoring me. I guess my questions are too specific to answer with a canned response, so they would have to THINK to respond to me. Its probably easier just to sweep me under the carpet.

I don't think that’s the case. I wrote a very detailed 3 page e-mail to get my generic response. It angers me that they don't even have the correct information. I can now say I have moved past being excited and just dealing with the wait to being very angry and close to giving up. When this is all over I’m going to write an e-mail to Press and Nardeili and let them know what I think about everything that has happened. this is just unacceptable.
