That additional $660 you paid on your 2008 SRT8 is to cover the additional 11 gallons of gas (only $60/gal).

My order sheet shows the 8 gallons of gas having a dealer price of $22 (effectively $2.75/gal) I was hoping to lock a few thousand gallons of fuel as part of the deal at this dealer price.

Let us not forget the $1.80 for my dash number. That drops the price per gallon to $59.97.

I ordered a 2009 SRT8 with: Hemi Orange, Trak Pak, Srt Option Group 2, Power sunroof, Performance tires, and MyGig/nav system. The car was ordered on June 23rd and I have a VON. The car is at BG status. I tried to find a dealer in metro Detroit that would allow me to order a 2009 for MSRP and they all him-hawed. I found a small dealer in my hometown, 100 miles N. of Detroit that took my order. Here is my big fear: they only had 1 2008 SRT8 allocated to them. Their second order was converted to a 2009 so if they only get one car I am screwed. I pre-ordered because I really want the orange six-speed. The dealers around here have been like pigs at the trough, even the dealership where I bought 4 vehicles. Placing the order with that small dealer felt great, but it's a coin flip whether I will get it. I hope you all had better luck with pricing.

My ......2009......Challenger has not even been built yet and my VON as per my dealer has not moved and [sm=dontgetit.gif] ......... you 2008 guys are here talking and worring about how much gas you got in your delivered .....2009.......GEEZE , some nerve....lol...If you have to worry about the gas its the WRONG CAR for YOU!!!!! I see a PRIUS in your future ....ROFLMAO[sm=happybounce.gif].....But to be honest I'm really happy for all you guys who got your 2009's and Congratulation to all. Now I hope we can post about all our 2008 problems or lack of them...LOL Good luck to all who have ordered any " 2009 " Challenger

PS , I was there during the delivery of "SAM THE JEEP MAN"S" 2008 SRT8 Hemi Orange Challenger and even helped him check it over for defects......what an AWESOME CAR and we only found 3 defects all very small.

I ordered my 2009 Challenger on May 13th 2008. It will be Hemi orange Pearl, 6 spd, perf tires, track pak, group II and stripes. My VON is 21959753 and I am in status C. I was told (I know, and Santa isnt real either) to expect to be in D1 very soon after the 11th of July and to expect a Mid September delivery.

I know I will probably be whinning and crying like everyone else when Xmas comes and goes with no car in sight too!

I ordered a 2009 Challenger SRT on May 16 from an out-of-state dealer. I have gone from BA to BG to BX to BG to BX back to BG in the past 7 weeks. My dealer says that no dealers have received allocations for SRTs yet. This is total BS. [:@]

On the Challenger Registry there are 11 SRTs in "C" status.

Sorry, forgot that, yes it is an SRT8 and I paid an MSRP of $43,560 at Naperville Dodge in Naperville, Illinois (about 40 miles west of the city of Chicago).
