Axel, Dodge did offer a either a Dakota or D50 convertible

 

Thanks for that Mustang link, Axel, gives me even more information to plug into my deliberations about my Challenger.

Yes, Skippy, they did build a Dakota convertible. (I know you didn't ask me, but I thought I'd answer anyway. ) I think they all had a roll bar mounted in the bed, but I'm not positive about that.

 

They sure did. That would be on par with the PT Cruiser.

Looks like I was wrong about the rollbar being in the bed. Looks like it's on the back wall of the cab, with the top tied onto it somehow. It's inside the cab when the top is up.

Hmmm... Ideas... How to pull something like that off with my Challenger without it looking completely cheesy...

 

definitely awaiting the 6 speed-I would have bought a Magnum with a Hemi by now if it were offered with a manual tranny (if only to trade it in on the Challenger a few years later[8D]!!)

 

We almost got Magnum's for company vehicles but I doubt they would have had Hemi engines or manual trans.

 

I hate to be the one to bring this uo but chevy HAS made a convertible truck, certin modles of the SSR had rag tops. they looked horible!!!!!!

 

I hafta agree with the original poster here.I think i'll wait it out too and get a 6.4 with the tremec 6 speed and a drop top without getting raped by some dealer just to be the first on the block to get one.
