I'm Billy, 29 yaers old, from Lumberton, NC. I now stay in Myrtle Beach, SC. I'm an aircraft mechanic at the old airforce base (during the week). I mostly work on Dornier 328 jets and turbo props. Most week-ends I work in Lumberton at a Honda/Suzuki motor cycle dealership. I pretty much grew up next to a Dodge dealership and tormented everyone! My family is all chevy and GMC........I strayed. Although, we do have one thing in common, we hate Fords! I love drag racing, I've been around it sence I could drive. The cars I have:

67' Nova. My father gave it to me about 10 years ago, it was trashed. Improvements: 400 sb, powerglide, Art Morrison Super car chassis, Mark Williams floater axles, VFN fiberglass (everything they have available). Needs floors installed, paint, and love.

49' Dodge truck B-1-B, blueish/grey. Ugly as sin. I bought it roughly 5 years ago. Rebuilt: engine, trasmission(3 on the tree), rearend, and breaks. Needs a paint job, but solid very dependable. It may be in a movie coming out soon called, "The Secret Life of Bees". I rented it to a company called Picture Cars for use in the movie(could be edited out, could be driven in the movie, who knows).

96' Dodge truck. Daily driver, gets me where I need to go. Oh, it don't care what the price of gas is, it takes all it can get.

98' Honda shadow 1100 (M/C). High comp pistons, cams, ported, jetted w/ dialajets and jets in carb. It too does not care what the price of gas is.

97' Honda Valkyrie. 6 in to 6 drag pips, yellow and black, Like new.

2006 Honda XR 650L. Piston, cam, and pipe. For sale now, if not sold by summer I'm going to put a turbo on it.

And SOON I will have a Challenger SRT8, orange. First on the list. I had to call around to find a dealer that would not rape me on the price, as you all know.

Looks like I'm the only one in here, might as well leave something on my way out. Grunt, ahh, eeehhh, uuuuuuuhhhhhh. Well there it is, I believe you concrete guys would rate that about 5 1/2 slump, that is a pile height of 5 1/2 inches for you non-mason types. Just my way of sharing a part of myself with the group. Speaking of group, I need support. I was looking upon the 09 concept Camaro with lust in my heart, is that wrong? Anyway, since I'm spillin my guts (pun intended, sorry about the carpet) I sold my wifes 68 Camaro for $1500 in 1997. The truth is, in a two car garage is there really room for two cars? Especially if the other one is a 72 340 4 speed Rallye with strobing stripes rippled over Top Banana? Well, lets put it another way. You have a queen size bed, your girl is pushing 340 (lbs). Do you get a king size bed? Sleep on the couch? Or continue to fall into the valley of death every time she rolls up on you in a deep slumber, mouth wide open, giving you Ram Air of the foul kind? The answer is easy, ask any electrical engineer. Follow the path of least resistance, getting a new bed takes time, money and energy. Sleeping on the couch requires self discipline, selflessness, and I think self hatred followed by self pity, anyway or door #3...... Boot the Betty, or in this case the Bertha. So that is what I did, I surprised my new wife with $1500 in cash and told her the good news! Hey Baby, you won't believe what happened! You know that old car you got from your Dad for graduation? You know, the one that you and him worked on together for 4 months trying to set the timing cause your Dad wouldn't know a distributor from a dishwasher? Yeah, that one, the 327 RS, black on black, bucket, console, sleek, sexy, fem fatale Camaro with purple stripes that you had added for the perfect touch at completely removing the balls from any man caught near it at every car show at the Lake parked next to the peak of my masculinity that most people referred to as "the other cute car next to the Camaro!" Anyway, needless to say, she was speechless! And for a week I was wifeless! What can I say, I needed to rebuild my 340 that had just dropped oil pressure the week before and I was making $5.25 hr. Her car had been sitting for months because the wiring was on the fritz, destiny! Along comes a hand full of greenbacks and a tow truck, all in the same afternoon! I had been praying for this and I am a believer, ask and ye shall recieve, knock and it shall be opened unto you, well the light shone down and a dove flew over and crapped on the Camaro as it was winched onto the roll back! And we lived happily ever after? Until tonight, 11 years later, I mentioned that the new Challenger will come in "Plum Crazy" and my wife mentioned the new Camaro will come in a convertible! AAAAAHHHHHH! And we can go to car shows again! You in your new Challenger and me in my Camaro! I will forgive you for my 68 and maybe my Dad will too! So, I'm on the web checkin it out and, um, well, urrr, I am getting a chubby! Detroit, we have a problem. That Camaro is too damn cool to be anywhere near my Mopars! Confession is almost over, the new Challenger will come in a 5 speed only, thank God it will pump 425 hp compared to the 400 hp Camaro, we will still remain in power! All hail the Challenger! Yes honey, I'm coming to bed right now muffin........

I just realized I never used this thread when I first registered - almost two years ago! Talk about a major oversight!

My name is Bob, I'm 47, married (second time - both - wish we found each other BEFORE the first ones - wouldn't have been a need for a "second time"), have 6 kids - four boys and two girls (4 are hers, 2 are mine), and live in Upstate New York.
I'm a supervisor/foreman for the State in the Transportation Department. We do everything from building and maintaining roads (mainly on the InterState Highway System) including plowing those roads in the winter, to repairing and maintaining all of the machines. We use a lot of construction equipment, so I get to work with the same "toys" I played with as a kid (okay, not EXACTLY the same - the ones I played with as a kid read "Tonka" on the side). My employees gave me the name "BootCamp" many years ago because I run my crews like a boot camp. I actually take pride in that, but not because I enjoy being a "hard@$$". The majority of our work is in immediate proximity of high-speed traffic, so it's important that everyone does their job correctly - or someone will get hurt or killed. We really can't afford to make any mistakes. In 18 years, I've never had an employee suffer anything more severe than a twisted ankle. Hope to keep it that way.

Dad always had a MOPAR or Ford in the driveway, and after following his lead for many years, I went away from the Fords due to problems with them - EVERY ONE I owned. I've owned quite a few Chryslers and Plymouths, but never owned a Dodge until my wife and I traded in her Chrysler Town 'n Country on her '06 Charger R/T. I'm driving an '01 PT Cruiser Limited (which I actually use more like a truck) - until I get my Challenger. I've been very impressed by the build quality improvements between my first MOPARs and the newest generation MOPARs. The fit and finish is MUCH better than the cars I owned from the '60's and '70's. The reliability has ALWAYS been there.

Looking forward to sharing pictures, information and modification ideas with everyone here when we're actually behind the wheels of our new Challengers!

Well, my husband and I are total mopar fanatics, we have seven + our 2 everyday trucks. We race 2 71 Demons, have 3 69 Darts in various stages of reconstruction, and one 70 hard top challenger, and my pride & joy, a 70 challenger 383 R/T convertable, even though it's all apart, waiting to be restored(someday?) I've owned it since 79. That's where I came up with the name. It's Lemon twist with a black top & stripes, like a bee. My first car was a 70 Barracuda, so I started without really knowing what I was getting into! God, I wish I still had that car! I've been following all of you for a while and after seeing the one about the wives, I had to jump in! Some of us loves cars as much as the guys, and I work on mine too!
