Default 1st ticket in the Challenger...

Well I knew it would happen sooner or later. I had just got off work after working 12 hours on night shift. I wanted a nice biscuit from Hardees and decided to stop by on the way home. Its 0600 in the morning in SC and its pretty dark out. I tried to look for the entrance to Hardees and I over shot it by 15 feet. I looked behind me to see if I could back up on this 4 lane. There was 1 truck and I waited until he passed. I have a maual so I becked it a few feet and put it in 1st and let the clutch out while still going backwards. Needless to say instant burn out. I let off as soon as it straighten out and proceeded to the drive through. I ordered and then left out. I headed back towards the house and went sveral hundred feet and noticed a car pulling fast up on my bumper. I looked down at the speedo and I was going 45 in a 45. Stopped at the light and when it went green took off again. Then the lights lit up behind me and I looked for a place to pull over that would be safe for the officer. I pulled into a bank parking lot and waited. 30 seconds went by and another patrol car showed up with lights agoing. Then the officer came up to the window and asked for DL and reg. Also asked if I knew why I was being pulled over. My reply... no. Then he informed me that I had spun the tires going into Hardees. I told him I had and the reason why. Then another patrol car showed up and then another. 4 total patrol cars for the big bad law breaker. But when the officer came back he gave me a warning and sent me on my way. They were cool about it and seemed to be just interested in the car. So no harm no foul. This is going to cut into my 2nd, 3rd and 4th tire spinning sessions. I will be a good boy from now on... at least in Seneca SC.

better than my first ticket experience..

I was on base and trying to get back to work from lunch. the lunch rush was coming in the main gate and I saw a small gap so I gave it some gas to get into the gap without slowing up the people behind it and I got radar'd doing 59 in a 30.. it didn't help me that when he asked if I knew how fast I was going I responded "sorry I was looking at the tach because I was about to shift up to third and coast a little.."

I'm just glad it happened on base, they took away my base-driving privledges for 6 months but there's no civilian penalties so it doesn't affect my insurance.. and for 5 of those six months I've been out to sea so whatever.. :/

Default 1st ticket in the Challenger

So, I was on my way to class today and decided to grab a quick burger before I got there. Needless to say I was clipped for improper lane usage at an intersection that gave no signs of the right lane turning into a right turn only lane and my destination was just on the other side of the intersection on the right. The ticket was interesting because it was one of those little bike cop printed receipt tickets that stated there was an accident involved there was not, that it happened at 12am instead of 3:45pm, and that it happened on 12/30/1899 that last one had me laughing. I've never had a ticket out here and don't know what's the most effective way to make it go away. Back home I would just mail off the ticket pleading guilty and excepting a 4 hour driver safety class along with a check for 200 and everything would go away with no points on my license. Is there anything like that out here since taking a day off of work to go to court costs me almost 300 before court even begins and they tack on their fees. Can I use any of the completely fictitious information to my advantage like I would have been able to back home? What is the best and most cost effective way to "pay and have it go away" without having to go to court or get any points on my license?

I would just hire a lawyer. I really despise lawyers but this is one time you have to use them. It will be the most cost effective way to make this fribilous ticket go away. Good luck.

Wink

Unfortunately, one of the main reasons most of us purchased our new Challengers, its looks is also what tends to make them “Police Bait”. The freeway on-ramp I use each day after work is nice and long, and I always enter the freeway slightly above the posted speed so that I can choose where I want/need to merge. (Ok, it’s also fun to open it up every so often…but only in the name of safely merging…wink, wink .) **At least I understand the concept of merging…unlike most drivers out there! Anyway, more than once I have had a DPS vehicle come driving up to get a closer look at me as I enter the flow of traffic. They always find me doing the posted speed as I have a habit of scanning the freeway for anything that even remotely looks like a Crown Vic. (Our DPS could save a lot of money and keep most of us from speeding by just buying all senior citizens a new Crown Vic. and having them cruise the interstates.)
I have had my SRT for over a year and have not even been pulled over (nock on wood)…not that I don’t speed, as my Challenger just loves to cruise at 80, and you HAVE to open it up once in awhile to keep the car in tune…I just remember to keep one eye open for the “man” (who is busy trying to protect me from myself).
