with the modern age of lawsuits, i dont know how common a dealership willing to swap engines for performance purposes would be...

i grew up near yenko...yenko is a honda dealership now..

and a few years ago, they have a "yenko S2000" sitting out from..a 4 cylinder car with white paint and orange stripes...

You are probably right, however there are some Ford dealerships that are now putting on performance parts on Mustangs.

I do not know if they are doing total engines though.

well, ford does have some aftermarket support, much like dodge with the srt4 and pt gt parts...so it wouldnt surprise me if some dealerships are doing installs, but it probably effects warranties and such, and there are probably ALOT of disclaimers...

Hey dumbasses that say they will pay $50,000, you're just running up the price, go take some classes in Marketing/Purchasing 101.

Well, I voted on the 6.4L engine and $50k just happen to be next to the engine. However, I don't think those 2 votes is going to make DCX raise the price. I have been in sales and marketing for 25 years so I do not think I have to take a class.

FYI-The price I would prefer is in the higher $30K to lower $40K.

So I guess you must have talking about me. Interesting expletive!

You should all be prepared for bad news when the pricing comes out. Maybe my figures are wrong but expect the price to be higher than you thought. DCX will probably make it hurt to buy a challenger.

If an srt-8 Charger is $40,000 then there is not doubt that the challenger will be a bit more, i'm sticking with the $42,500 price on a 6.1 Challenger.

btw, The gt500 is selling for way above sticker. Someone paid 100,000 for one I heard on ebay!

The SRT-8 Charger starts at $38,095, but I agree that a challenger SRT-8 will start at around $40,000 and i think top out at 45,000. Personally, I prefer the 5.7 liter Hemi because the 6.1 CURRENTLY does not have MDS and in a world of heavy foots and high gas prices it is needed[sm=icon_guiness.gif]. Sadly, I fear that the challenger concept will be the SRT version and the rest will be watered down some in appearance much like the base level mustang is to the gt500 (I have no proof just a feeling). Wallstreetman, I doubt that DCX is really going to check our forum for pricing ideas. The Z06 costs around $70,000, $50,000 wouldn't be out of line for 510 hp. If they do offer the 6.4L (which I'm doubting), don't expect it to be affordable. It would be a low production engine in a low production model.

Bored out, the primary reason why the GT500s are selling that high is the initall price hike isn't over yet. It is very new yet. Wait a couple years, it will eventually calm down.

I wouldn't be surprised if dealerships did install 6.4Ls. They have done that stuff in the past. I just hope state enforced emission standards don't screw up our chances of getting one.
