Now that is funny. Watching them under youthful eyes, that was a cool show. After seeing them with more wiser eyes, I see it as a funny show.

I do remember that back in the day, everybody wanted to have a car that looked like that. Of course, there are people that want a Charger that looks like the General Lee.

Maybe because I am older.......that just seems a little hokey for me. I do know there is a huge fan base that every year 1000 General Lees show up to show off.

I guess the difference is that I was not a fan of the Dukes of Hazzard but Daisy Duke was cute.

I thought that scene was from Fast & Furious 2, where the Yenko Camaro flies off of a pier and lands on the bad guy's escaping yacht.

The latest rumor that I heard was that a Hurst shifter may be mated to the 6-speed manual that will be available in the 2009 Challenger.

It was reported on allpar.com that the Challenger will have HSA. See description below:

"HSA supports the driver during drive-off situations on steep slopes and improves the vehicle comfort in many everyday situations, such as stop-and-go traffic, at traffic lights or when parking. HSA is a convenient software enhancement for ESC* systems (Electronic Stability Control). When the driver releases the service brake, HSA prevents the vehicle from rolling back in the opposite direction. Driving off becomes safe and comfortable without having to use the parking brake."

For complete details about this system, see:

This is a very cool feature for manual transmissions and will prevent fender benders on steep hills.

Yes, this is as we all may recall a rehash of the Studabaker hill holder (but I guess using the anti-lock braking as opposed to a mechanical linkage between brake and clutch). Subaru used to offer this as well, may still.
