So Which is Quicker?

RE: So Which is Quicker?
I think the R/T is a great value. The SRT is the best though. I say that as a guy who intends to buy an R/T. Who wouldn't want the awesome stopping power of the Brembo brakes, the extra displacement of the 6.1, the handling upgrades of an SRT tuned suspension, the bragging rights of having the top model? For those with the funds, an SRT is awesome.
I expect to be quite happy with the 6 speed R/T though. It is probably 87%** of the car for 75% of the price.
**arbitrary # sorta made up by: 4.7 0-60 divided by 5.1 0-60 is "92% as fast" in the all important stoplight drag, knock off 5% for the handling advantage of the SRT. Oversimplified, but I think gives a decent idea of the overall level of badassery embodied by the two machines. If the SRT is an A, the R/T is a solid B+.

oh you have that alarm that shows your car on that little screen and shows which part of the car is getting hit or broken into? it is pretty sick but it has a certain range right? but i think for most cases it is good.

Kevin you really wouldn't say shit to me in person trust me punk.
Ask my daddy who just did a year and a day in Palm Beach County.
You better hope I don't run into you i'm not hard to miss 6'5" tattoos everywhere , so i'll be more then happy to entertain any problems you may want resolved in person.

I don't bring out the Colt I bring out the H&K .45
*Spending time in the lock-up doesn't mean someone's tough - it means they make stupid choices.
*6' 5" just means a big target.
*Tattoos provide an aiming point.
*And posessing a handgun is a violation of the law for a convict, right? So making that statement is another demonstration of poor decision making. See 1st * above.
BTW - I'm 5' 9", 195. Doesn't mean I'll take a beating or walk away from anyone. Pitbulls don't back down from ANY dog, and we all know It 'aint the size of the dog in the fight, it's the size of the fight in the dog!
I could say I'm 6' 7", 350 here and who would know?
"Did I mention I'm the heir to the throne of _________?" (fill in however you'd like)
Now that we're done with the pointless posturing, I think once spring / better weather breaks, we'll see some verifiable time slips for all of the trim levels.
I'm going to make some passes with my SRT8 Challenger AND Mama's Charger R/T this spring and see what numbers come up - stock. Then as I make modifications, I'll make more passes after each one and note the performance differences. I don't think I'll get the same numbers as someone in Denver, or Death Valley, but I'll assume the increases (decreased e.t.) will be pretty much applicable to baseline times for those conditions (atmospehre and altitude).
Again - all external things being equal (weather, location, fuel, driver, etc. etc.), and both cars run STOCK, the SRT will pull away from the R/T as the distance run increases. The 1/4 mile may not be an overwhelming advantage for the SRT8, but as the distance of the race grows, the margin becomes much greater between the two trim levels.

What I wanna know. How does a POS hoodrat like Rudy's daddy afford to buy his little boy a 42 thousand dollar sports car?
I must be in the wrong line of work.

One point though, comparing a 300 hp Mustang Gt to its sibling 500 horse GT 500 or comparing a 300hp V6 Camaro to 422 hp SS just doesnt make sense. 425 6.1 vs almost 380 isnt really a stretch! Both cars are awesome 'nuff said! Put away the guns and the macho bs and get back on track! [sm=exactly.gif]

Okay, this is a family friendly forum not seeing who can pee the farthest.
Any more of that and we will have to take more drastic measures.
Now, let's talk about Challengers.
