yes they may be, but they are 10 times uglier. This car is clssified as a retro throw back to the original.... there is only 1 part in the entire car that is a throw back, and that's the center console gauge cluster.... other than that there is no other resemblence to the original. At least the Challenger has the distinct body line and 1/4 window that is original.

I'm not real sure of the Camaro SS but the SRT-8 Challenger has a few U-Tube movies of it hitting 170+ . I believe the SS is limited to 155. I may be wrong. Now as far as quick goes 0-60 , 1/8 or 1/4 that is a different deal. The cars are close... but the SS is lighter with similar power. I would say the drivers are the most important part of the equation. If both are 6-speed manuals then the driver in the winning car has to be flawless. I as of yet have not came across an SS. But I have been to Z-Max in Charlotte to give it a try.

From what I've seen at our local track, an SS Camaro 6-speed is slightly faster than a 6-speed SRT Challenger. It's all in the 300 pounds less the Camaro weighs. Top end speed, I'd say the Challenger has the win.
